Biography

Adam Miller was born in 1979 in the United States and began his apprenticeship to Artist Allen Jones at thirteen years old.  At Sixteen he was accepted to the Florence Academy of Art in Florence Italy where he underwent an extensive training in classical painting techniques and studied the masterpieces of the Renaissance firsthand.  For the next four years Miller traveled in Europe studying the greatest art of the past, expecially the Mannerists in Florence and the Flemish Baroque paintings in Antwerp.  It was while living in close proximity to the paintings of Rubens in Belgium that he was inspired to create his style of large narrative figures.

In 2005 the chairman of the board of the Portland Art Museum recognized his work and commissioned Miller to paint ceiling paintings in his vineyard where the museum board meetings were held.  It was after finishing these works that Miller became known for his unique style.  His work has since been commissioned to adorn homes, ballrooms, vineyards and churches around the country.  His paintings are in various collections and have been shown in galleries in the United States and Europe.
